Travel Tips - Staying Safe Away from Home Part 2

We've given you tips for packing and staying safe when you're traveling.  Here are a few more tips to consider when you're planning your summer vacation -
  • If you're traveling out of the country, check the CDC website to make sure you're up to date on all the shots you'll need to enter that country.
  • The State Department offers something called The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program.  If you submit your travel plans they will contact you if there is a family emergency at home or a problem at your destination.
  • If you have to use a credit card, let your credit card company know that you will be out of the country so your transactions aren't flagged as suspicious.  It's also a good idea to check what fees they charge for international transactions.
How do you stay safe when you're traveling?
