Travel Tips - Staying Safe Away from Home

We've already given you several packing tips (how to keep clothes fresh, remembering the essentials, and general packing tips).  But, staying safe when you're traveling is even more important (although not always as fun as picking out the perfect bag for your trip).  Here are a few tips -

• Instead of cash, carry traveler's checks.  They're more secure because they will be replaced if they're lost or stolen (and they never expire).
• Use a bag with a strap that crosses your chest (so that your wallet is always in sight).
• Leave expensive pieces of jewelry at home, especially if you're traveling overseas. 
• Empty everything from your wallet that you won't need - social security cards, etc.  This will make your life easier if your wallet is lost or stolen.
