Packing Tips

Whether you're taking a trip overnight or going on vacation for two weeks, here are a few packing tips that will help you save space and stay organized -
  • If you're flying, be sure to follow TSA's packing guidelines.
  • Roll your clothes instead of folding them.  You'll save space and they won't wrinkle as much (or at all depending on the fabric).  For extra protection you can also place your clothes in dry cleaning bags before rolling them.
  • Place your shoes in bags before placing them in the bottom of your suitcase.  This will help keep your clothes clean.  You can also put your socks inside your shoes for extra room and to help your shoes maintain their shape.
  • Try to stick with similar colors when you choose your outfits.  For example, choose outfits that all match a black purse and shoes - you'll save space and make your life easier.
  • For an overnight trip, choose a smaller sized bag.  You don't need much for one night, and restricting yourself to a smaller bag can help prevent overpacking.

  • Use a large bag or tote bag as your handbag when you travel.  That will give you the additional room you need for all the extras - your camera, passport, a book, etc.
